Dear Fellow Idahoans,
All of my life, I have been involved in service of one kind or another. Hard work, honesty and integrity, strong Idaho values, and a drive to make life better for others and to "make a difference," have been the ingredients of my life since childhood.
In entering the campaign for the Senate, I offer a change from the status quo of "establishment politics" -- and dedication to facing and helping solve the challenges that face us as a state and as a nation.
Our representative government has become something other than "representative". Many of those involved in government don't understand or appreciate the concerns of average people who work hard for a living, raise a family, and to enjoy the freedom and liberty guaranteed to Americans.
They've stifled our freedom, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit through excessive controls and taxes. They've implemented program-after-program that appear to be well-meaning that, in reality, have only expanded social engineering and have all but destroyed personal responsibility.
People have given up hope. Many have lost faith and trust in our government. I've heard it said again-and-again that "it doesn't matter what we think, they're going to do whatever they want anyway." As a result, people don't participate in the political process, and, in ever-increasing numbers, are not casting their vote on election day.
The approval rating of Congress has reached all time lows -- and today, only about 11% of Americans approve of their activities.
It is time for a change. I know that we hear that line in just about every election cycle. However, change doesn't happen, because we go to the polls and re-elect the same people. For whatever reason, we vote for the candidate that is the best looking or the one that has the most glitter in their campaign, rather than for those that may be offering real solutions, or for those that are running for something other than power or ego.
I believe I offer the kind of change you are looking for. I'm not a wealthy person, an attorney, or a partisan crony. I don't have the money to "buy" an elective office. I've owned and operated a small family business, have worked in retail, and in a food processing plant. I'm just one of the majority of Idahoans that struggle from day-to-day trying to make life better for my family and for others.
Please join with me in restoring truly representative government by supporting and voting for me to serve you in the United States Senate. I pledge openness, hard work, and dedicated service.
All my best,
